What All Is Covered In This Fellowship?
Our mentor, a VC Professional from Chiratae Ventures, helps you understand Venture Capital as an asset class, VC Terminology spanning GP, LP, Term Sheets, Thesis Building, Investment Committee, Power Law, Market Sizing, TAM/SAM/SOM, Founder-Market Fit, IRR, CAC, LTV, Pre-Money & Post-Money Valuation.
We also cover how a VC makes money, the concept of carry, and the math behind VC exits. We cover types of VC firms (pre-seed, early-stage, growth-stage) and what VC professionals do on a daily basis. Common entry routes into VC, and career progression, are also constituted in this checkpoint.
We also divide you into thesis-building teams of 4 VC fellows and kick off the live VC project. You will be asked to scout an early-stage venture and prepare a deck that explains why it’s investable, the founder-market fit, and the TAM estimate. You will receive a live project completion certificate and proof of work.
Our mentor from Atrium Angels delves deeper into what a startup pitch deck entails, how to reach out to founders as a VC, VC deal evaluation – risks and criteria, due diligence – how it happens, and how do early-stage VCs take a punt on founders.
Our mentor from Blume Ventures delves deeper into a startup’s P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement. We learn how to forecast startup revenue and expenses.
We learn various startup valuation techniques, including revenue multiples, comparable company analysis, and discounted cash flow analysis. We also cover 2 live exercises of early-stage startup valuation and enterprise value determination.
Our mentor from Blume Ventures introduces you to CVs for Venture Capital. We learn how to phrase a VC CV, quantify our experience, and dos & dont’s. VC hirers often give take-home thesis building assignments to candidates, which is something we cover too, in detail, in this checkpoint.
Our mentor from Atrium Angels delves deeper into the number of technical rounds in a VC interview, and who takes these interviews. We also learn about the evaluation parameters of technical VC interviews, types of technical questions asked.
The mentor also details how to prepare for technical questions in detail, step by step, and shares resources for building a sectoral perspective.
Our mentor from Fireside Ventures delves deeper into the number of behavioural rounds in a VC interview and who conducts the interviews. He also covers the evaluation parameters of a behavioural VC interview, types of behavioural questions asked, and how to prepare for behavioural questions in detail, step by step.
Our mentor from WestBridge Capital helps you understand how to network with VC firms & recruiters, how to get noticed, and how to spot hiring opportunities, as well as outreach and networking strategies that actually work.
The duration is 2 months and includes all the checkpoints mentioned above.
